Early Care & Education Professional Development:

A great deal has been learned in recent years about the benefits and cost of high-quality early care and education services, and how to improve programs to meet the needs of all children. This has created an intentional form of professional development to build and retain a high qualified workforce. Today, like other occupations, education is the currency with which the early childhood professional development system is being constructed. Because the education level of child care providers has been linked with quality care in several research studies, Region 9 Resource and Referral offers a variety of professional development opportunities for child care providers. Professional development refers to a combination of education, training and continuing education.

2017-2018 Child Care Market Rate Survey

In October, you were mailed a Child Care Market Rate Survey for 2017-18.  It is extremely important that all childcare providers complete this survey.

Your survey answers provide valuable information for the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE).  Market Rate Survey data helps determine where existing market rates are inconsistent with the price of care in the private market and helps make the case for keeping subsidy reimbursement rates in line with private pay rates.  If you have already completed your survey, we thank you for your assistance!

***If you have not completed the Market Rate Survey for your facility, please take five to ten minutes this week to do so.***

If you are unsure of your survey’s completion status or no longer have your login credentials, you may contact our research partners at NCSU at 919-515-3211 or by email ryan_hancock@ncsu.edu or rodney_oneal@ncsu.edu.

The survey may be accessed online at:  https://survey.ncsu.edu/childcare
