Region 9 CCR&R Services
Region 9 CCR&R provides the following child care resource and referral services across the North Carolina Child Care Resource & Referral Council’s Region 9, which is comprised of Alexander, Avery, Burke, Caldwell, Iredell, McDowell, Mitchell, Watauga, and Yancey Counties.
Healthy Social Behaviors Initiative
Region 9 Resource & Referral is responsible for the leadership and management of this statewide initiative supporting child care centers that serve children who display challenging behaviors and /or those that wish to further develop pro-social behaviors in all children served. Services include specialized consultation, technical assistance and training to promote social competencies in all children in child care centers. Contact 704.878.9980 or 704.929.3980.
Infant-Toddler Quality Enhancement Initiative
This service is available for all licensed child care programs in Region 9 that are in good standing with the North Carolina Division of Child Development. Services include: in-depth and short-term on-site technical assistance regarding infants/toddlers, workshops on the Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS), Positive Guidance for Infants & Toddlers and Ages & Stages. School-Age Quality Improvement Initiative
The initiative is available to all Region 9 licensed and unlicensed child care programs with school-age children or those seeking school-age children. Its services include: on-site technical assistance and training on topics including Basic School-Age Care, School Age Care Environment Rating Scale, Playground Safety, program start-up and best practices in school-age care.
